fob! blink!

so, last saturday was part one of two, as far as the fob/blink tour goes, so i have a picture and a couple of videos to share.
we were sitting on the lawn, so photos were not really relevant, but hey - fun with digital zoom!

4 videos behind the cut... )

well, someone had to.
it may as well be me, i suppose.

hello, handbasket!

(ETA: i suppose i ought to give credit where it's due: the video is originally nightlily's, over at youtube)

i have no idea where this came from...
for some reason lately, firefox has been showing me youtube embeds incorrectly, which normally just means that instead of playing the actual video, it embeds something i've recently watched. instead, this time, rather than the [livejournal.com profile] patd  post with time to dance, i clicked the video and got this:

and with a little digging, found these:

4 more )

apparently from [livejournal.com profile] tothetune  here, even though that was posted after mine? my version of firefox is a precog?

meme, from[livejournal.com profile] nafs  :

OK, here are the rules. Test your memory and your love of live music by listing 50 artists or bands (or as many as you can remember) you've seen in concert. List the first 50 acts that come into your head. An act you saw at a festival and opening acts count, but only if you can't think of 50 other artists. Oh, and list the first concert you ever saw (you can remember that, can’t you)?

i started to get stuck somewhere around 30, had to rely on openers at 42: )

for more, see my profile page, where the chronological-ish list lives.

did i say that i love comic-con season yet?

gerard, on being introduced at his panel, with mikey: "Me and Mikey here are actually working on a 'Twilight' and ['My Chemical Romance'] slash fiction." (source)

love. lovelove. i seriously cackled at that.

"They joked that Mikey would himself write a comic book called "Fucking Iron Man."

Mikey Way said he looks up to his older brother. "Everything I do is inspired by him," he said, describing himself as the Tonto to Gerard's Lone Ranger. The "Umbrella Academy" writer laughed about their childhood, saying that he used to dress up as Robin while Mikey was Batman, resulting in a mismatched role reversal for the brothers. Gerard said of Mikey: "He's my best friend and he inspires me every single day." (ready? together: awwwwwwwww)

Way said that he'd most likely score the "Umbrella Academy" movie himself."

"The film, for everyone who’s curious, is going great," he added, saying a script was in the finalization process. "I want all the fans to know that [the movie] is in really good hands.""

hey - so i've got video from the cab show in buffalo to share with you! whee!

the show was fun - the sound was pretty terrible, and bryan is still settling into his place on stage, but otherwise everyone was great! i look forward to seeing what bryan can do, once he's a little more confortable with the catalogue, and starts writing new stuff with them. the acoustic set afterwards was pretty neat. i'm not sure i would have traded that for a couple more songs on the regular set, but you can't beat it for fan interaction. there was a hilarious chick next to me making complimentary (yet vulgar) comments regarding marshall for the last half of disturbia, but i edited them out of this montage. it was so tempting to pan over to her.
anyway, a good time was had by all, toronto was out full force, which was funny, since we were in buffalo. i'd make that trip again, though, it was pretty slick.

hey, look what i found:
apparently this guy is doing the mixing? i don't really know. it's like easter eggs, finding who is involved where.

ryan, ryan, ryan. what are we going to do with you?

re: pete, and j.mont implying that ryan and pete are not really cool at the moment: "I guess I've been meaning to call him back. He called me, but I've missed a lot of phone calls this week"

ryan. call him. seriously. this is not a bridge you want to burn.

from NME via buzznet, approx 2 years ago:

"We'll probably end-up starting another band to play those songs. It was that different to what we'd done before. It was out there." - Ryan Ross about the cabin songs

also: from alex greenwald's twitter:

getting there, boys. getting there.

oh, panic. what are we going to do with you? two for the price of one!

(sad, surprised, but looking forward to what they all come out with next.)

eta: pete, stop being cryptic.

pete does twitter q and a:

q: ever consider playing warped again?
a: there may or may not be some things in the works

that was the most interesting thing, really, that came up. oh, and some guy met his fiance-to-be outside the gates of a canceled houston show, and the story basically made pete's night, which is adorable.

i threw him the link to magic pony, but he probably had 527546873213168576 tweets at once, so who knows?

i've been reading through the [livejournal.com profile] bandombigbang  stories, and has everyone read [livejournal.com profile] samedifference_ 's story yet? because it's really amazing and heartbreaking and intricate, and i fully recommend it. fully.

thinky things )

1. You can ONLY answer 'Yes' or 'No'.

2. You are NOT ALLOWED to explain ANYTHING unless someone messages or comments you and asks—and, believe me, the temptation to explain some of these will be overwhelming. Nothing is exactly as it seems.

the waybaby is here! bandit lee way, everyone. also best thing, we hear it first from levar burton.

(also, endlessly amused by this:
"I am open to other things but I absolutely do not want Gold, Brown, or that frigging Smokey and The Bandit car- that shit is whack." - gerard, march 24, 2009)

eta: and alicia twittered with a gendered pronoun - baby bandit is a girl :-) babybabybaby.
